Our Story

Cleveland Climate Week began as a grassroots spark among a small group of residents, educators, community groups and organizations who recognized that while significant environmental work was happening, it often remained disconnected in silos.

Cleveland Climate Week was created as an independent platform to connect and elevate climate work already happening across communities, sectors, and institutions. We envisioned a platform where these voices could be amplified, transforming individual efforts into a powerful movement for local resilience and equity.

What started as an idea sparking action grew into an initiative honoring Cleveland’s history while looking toward the future.

From the banks of the Cuyahoga River to classrooms led by educators, our first Cleveland Climate Week naturally united youth leaders, residents, and local organizations to share knowledge and restore our urban canopy, lived experience, inspire future generations and more.

Proving grassroots leadership is one of the most effective tools we have for lasting city-wide change.
